♥ Wedding Date - 30th November 2019 ♥ Venue - Penrith Registry Office & Melmerby Village Hall
How did you meet your husband?
We met at University.
Tell us about your proposal?
Proposal was my first Mother’s Day, Rob told me that Ada had my present in her cot and I had to be quick because it was chocolate, when I went in she was playing with a box. I went downstairs with Ada to sort her breakfast and then I decided to I open the ‘chocolate’, turns out it was an empty ring box and when I went upstairs to see where Rob was, he was waiting on one knee and had been there for ages while I was faffing!
What was your wedding dress experience like?
It was a really good experience, you have in your mind what you want but I don’t think it ever goes that way! I enjoyed the process, you really get to feel like a Princess for once!
How did you choose the ‘THE ONE’?
I tried on the dresses I picked out but none felt right! Lauren gave me one she picked, the From the start I imagined off the shoulder and lace all over – yet after trying almost every dress in the shop (sorry Lauren!) I ended up going for a plain, long sleeve dress which was actually part of a bridesmaids collection – it was in hot pink when I chose it – so it was exciting to see it in white when it came into the shop! You just know when you find the dress, everything feels ‘right’.
What did you love most about your dress?
It’s simplicity and the buttons down the back!
Were you following a certain theme for your wedding?
We ended up following a woodland/countryside theme – lots of logs, evergreens and fairy lights! Our wedding inspiration came from Pinterest and Instagram, I’d always wanted a winter wedding, so after talking about it with Rob we decided we wanted it to be cosy, with fairy lights everywhere! I found some really gorgeous ideas online.
Did you walk down the aisle to a particular song?
We had a piper, he piped me and my dad down the aisle to Highland Cathedral. I love the pI walked down the aisle to the instrumental of ‘A Million Dreams’. Me, Rob & Ada dance around the kitchen to songs from The Greatest Showman so it seemed like the right song.
What was your most memorable moment of the day?
The whole day! Every part of the wedding was planned by us, so there was always a little worry in the back of my mind that something would go wrong/be forgotten – but everything went perfectly and it was such a fun day! Everyone had a lovely time and the weather was perfect too. It all came together so well, so it’s hard to pick just one moment.
Do you have any tips for future brides?
Don’t be afraid to plan it on your own and if you find an idea you love, just go for it! My entire wedding day was nothing like I imagined it would be and it was absolutely perfect the way it ended up!
