How did you meet your husband?

It was a swipe right! Ross and I met on tinder 3.5years ago!

Tell us about your proposal?

So Ross and I were in Malta for a short ‘city’ break in 2018, unbeknown to me he had bought a ring! we booked a trip to the Blue Lagoon, which looked idyllic & amazing! After a long boat trip to Gozo and then onto the Blue Lagoon, we arrived to not such an idyllic crammed beach with hundreds of people and food/drinks huts! Still unbeknown to me, I didn’t know why Ross was so grumpy and I just wanted to go for a swim!

After getting back to the hotel we were getting changed to go out when Ross went to clean his teeth and I went to take my jewellery out of the safe, only for an extra ring to fall into my hand! Shouting to Ross ‘what’s this?’, he quickly got down on one knee in the hotel bathroom – not quite as romantic as he planned but a funny story to tell!

What was your wedding dress experience like?

I had previously spent the day in Edinburgh dress shopping but came away having seen nothing I liked, not even slightly liked! And had tried a lot of dresses on! I had liked the style of Enzoani dresses and so found that Carols stocked the designer! I didn’t feel overly hopefully after the other day shopping but Lauren was lovely and asked what I was looking for, letting me pick out what caught my eye but also picking out some others she thought. And I fell in love with the kalypso – I was sure I didn’t want any illusion but i loved it!

How did you choose the ‘THE ONE’?

I tried on the dresses I picked out but none felt right! Lauren gave me one she picked, the Kalypso! And I fell in love with it! I always wanted something simple and classic but I was sure I didn’t want any illusion but i loved the detail!

What did you love most about your dress?

Everything, it was a simple classic look from the front but The back and the train had the detail that I absolutely loved and adding the veil just made it perfect!

Were you following a certain theme for your wedding?

We didn’t really have a theme. I did decide I wanted gin bottles and fairy lights all the way down the aisle, so my friends and family gladly accepted the challenge to join me in finding nice gin bottles and emptying them for me in the run up to the wedding!

Did you walk down the aisle to a particular song?

We had a piper, he piped me and my dad down the aisle to Highland Cathedral. I love the pipes!

What was your most memorable moment of the day?

Lots of people have asked me this and I can’t think of just one thing, I absolutely loved every minute of the day. It was everything we wanted!

Do you have any tips for future brides?

Someone said to me, take a few moments throughout the day to stand back and look around, take in what’s happening. I can’t describe the feeling to watch all of your family and friends, both sides together, all dancing/chatting and having a great time and knowing they are there for the two of you, on your wedding day.
